Getting to know your Blog readers

Getting to know your blog readersGreat, so I’ve managed to find 70ish RSS readers, who enjoy reading the blog, but what do I know about these readers – nothing, maybe I am the nosy type, but I like to know who is reading the blog, and that’s why I created an ‘introduce yourself’ post where everyone and anyone can leave a comment and introduce themselves.

I got this idea from forums where you see this a lot, so I thought I would include this in here and on my travel blog, which has over 200 introduction comments from readers. Why don’t you try this out on your own blog, and get to know more about your readers?

Let me know if you do and I’ll introduce myself.

  1. Hi Darren,

I’m an artist. I started blogging this past winter and knew I would need some tips, so I subscribed to your blog. My blog is about my paintings, small paintings mostly. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog and picked up some useful things.

  2. I look forward to receiving this blog in my email. I’m surprised there are only 70 of us that subscribe. I’ve learned lots to help in the past month or two that I’ve subscribed. I’m redoing my blogger blogs right now and having a bit of trouble with the CSS but I’ll persevere. In the meantime, you can read the two blogs I take care of for Sleeping Children Around the World. Because our travelling volunteers can’t always get internet connections, they send me a couple of reports at a time and then I format, fix grammar and spelling, and add the pix. Not quite what a blog is, but it works for our non-profit organization — and it saves me a lot of work too …

  3. Brian,

    Nice blog and great artwork.

I enjoy reading blogs with images much more than all text. I loose interest with text only blog posts, and that’s why I include images within all my posts.

I’ve started using Blogger recently, and can see the benefits for new bloggers as it’s so easy to get into, but the downside is the lack of categories, which makes searching much easier.

  4. Milton,

What you are doing is great, and I am sure the blog does raise awareness out there on the internet - it’s important that organisations like yours make use of the net.

Well done, it’s good to see and read blogs like this - it left a lump in my throat :)
