Don’t Sell Yourself and your Blog Short

Don't Sell Yourself and your Blog ShortI’ve finally realised that unless you have good traffic or a blog on a popular niche, you have very little chance of earning an income straightaway. The Blogged Out project has, so far, been a complete flop, but it’s been a good learning experience for me.

This blog is about blog promotion and marketing, so naturally, people don’t really want to advertise on it, which when you compare that to another niche travel – I’m getting emails from people wanting to advertise on it daily, and many are rejected, because I want the blog to look professional, not full of links and ads.

If you do blog in a niche that has people wanting to advertise, don’t sell yourself short. I have a set figure in my head that I want to earn from advertising, and I’ll never offer advertising for less than this set figure.

When looking at your advertising rates make sure you take consideration your Google Page Rank, number of pages in Yahoo, unique visitors per week, and also bear in mind that the company could increase their own revenue by advertising with you.

Don’t sell yourself short.
