Link Love Sunday

Sunday Link LoveAccording to Technorati, the number of blogs in the blogosphere is now 71 million, that’s a lot of blogs, and I wonder when it’ll reach 100 million and how many of these blogs are spam blogs, or blogs that are no longer maintained.

Anyway, I have to apologise for the lack of posts this week. It’s been a hectic week, and I haven’t had any time to write on Blogged Out. Today, I have a few links which I think you will find useful, so let’s kick off with this mighty list of revenue sources, nice list.

How about this for an unusual way to promote your blog Bla.st is the web’s first visual card network and advertising network. I’m not convinced that it’ll attract many visitors to your blog, or help with search engine optimisation, but it’s a fun way to promote your blog.

Another site that could help awareness of your blog and your own profile as a writer within your niche is Zimbio. You create an online profile with a link to your blog and you can write content which is linked to a specific portal within the site.

Finally, forget digg, and instead submit your news and interesting blog posts with Netscape instead, its much more user-friendly, and it doesn’t just concentrate on technology, just about every type of niche is included.

  1. Hi there, thanks for the mention.

bla.st isn’t receiving huge numbers of visitors yet, you can see how many clicks existing cards have so far with the “details” view. It’s completely free of course so any extra visitors is better than nothing, and some well designed cards long term cards have received hundreds of visitors.

To help we’ve just launched the bla.st widget network, which will get bla.st cards out onto other sites.

As bla.st gets grows and has more cards on it, the more useful as a directory it will be :)

  2. Wow that was quick Tim! I’d not realised it was free, which makes it even better! How do you an earn an income from it though?

It’s a nice site, and I’ll add my travel blog later today.

    Thanks for dropping by.

  3. Payment is completely optional, so you can pay to be on the front page if you want, or higher in your categories, however there’s no pressure to do so at all. You’re welcome to add as many free cards as you like.

Looking forward to seeing your site in the travel section!

  4. Tim, I have added it, will probably pay the nominal fee for advertising later. I’ve also added Bla.st ads to the sidebar aswell.

  5. Thanks for the link love :)

  6. No problem Ken. Nice list.

  7. I signed up with Zimbio a few months ago and I can’t say it has brought many visitors to my travel blog. You can sign up for their blog promotion but it only seems to update a couple of times a month.

  8. Thanks for the feedback Karen.

I think I’ll give that a miss then.
