I’ve spent an hour looking around some of your blogs, and I am amazed how many of you don’t have a contact form so that readers and potential advertisers, etc. can contact you.
Let’s pretend I’m a company and I want to advertise on your blog and spend some money promoting my companies website, but I can’t get hold of you to ask you some questions – so what happens? Well, you loose the potential of earning revenue from your blog.
So, if you don’t have a contact form get one now.
If you’re blog is powered by WordPress then you can choose from a wide range of plug-ins. I am using the PXS Mail form which is a simple form, but you can get more complex forms, which allow people to attach documents – these can be found at the WP plugin directory.
An option for those of you who use other blog applications, like Google’s Blogger, there’s a site called MyContactForm where you signup, generate your personal HTML form and then add the code on to a blog page. I’ve not tried the service, so let me know how you get on.
A more advance option is Webform Designer, where you create the layout of your forum and the software creates the HTML for you. You have to download a free piece of software, and it’s a little tricky at first but have a play with it and see what results you get.

I use WordPress and the WP Contact Form. This a drop in form for users to contact you and It can be implemented on a page or a post. It currently works with WordPress 2.0+,
and was supplied via http://www.ryanduff.net though I am not sure if he still provides any support for this plugin.
I’m using the WP Contact Form too,it works like a charm.
Thanks for the tip! I came up short on that one!
Guilty! I don’t have a Contact Me form. I can handle getting the code, but I’m not sure how to add a new page in Blogger. Can anyone help? In the meantime, I added a Contact Me mailto link under my picture on my blog. Hopefully this is better than nothing.
If anyone has ideas for Blogger, please let me know. As aforementioned, I’m new and still learning.
Thanks!
I have used this code on my personal site and it seems to work pretty well.

Okay, you caught me with my pants down. I do not have a contact form. Thanks for the illustration about a potential advertiser. It drove the message home!
I do not have a contact form, but I have a guestbook where guests can leave private or public messages. Do you think this will suffice?
I tried making a guestbook from MyContactForm, but I didn’t like having the entire form in my blog. I’d rather have a link instead. Did I just do something wrong, or is that the way that site works?
Kweenkong, please pull your pants up
Laura, the forms are more secure, so that spammers can’t get hold of your email address and use it to send you rubbish.
A guestbook will suffice, but make sure people can find it easily and that it doesn’t get spammed by the spammers out there.
Have a look in this thread because they are a few other options people have kindly mentioned.

Thanks for the tip. Just added a contact form on my blog. I have a lot of people coming to my site with searches of my name and my top tag ‘retail’, so this will be a great way for them to drop me a line and start a conversation….headhunters, maybe?
We use Squarespace for our blog and if you have purchased one of their business plans, ( Superb value for money in my opinion) then you can add a Form module to your site. The Form is created by just deciding on the type of entry you want and adding the boxes to build your form. Well done to Squarespace.
An example of our form can be found here

One thing with forms, we need quite a bit of information, so do we have a long form or keep it Short?
For anyone interested I have found out about this service which is free

Lee, whilst I think your blog looks great, and I have seen other templates on Squarespace, how is the blog for being search engine friendly?
Oooooh, spooky!
I’m 99% finished posting my first big blog contest. The one remaing piece of code I need is for a contact/entry form…
And voila: Your emai comment reminding up where to get contact form code pings a delivery in my mailbox! Thanks so much.
Everyone please check my blog and contest out. I’m going to bed now, so hope to get a contest entry button up by noon on Saturday.
Kweenkong, nice idea with the competition!
One word on the design of your blog. On IE7 I am seeing text overlap graphics which makes your blog difficult to read.
Hi Darren
Personally I think the guys at squarespace have launched a superb blogging platform, and is very search engine friendly. Our only slight problem is still using the .travel domain and hopefully Tralliance will sort that out.
The Great thing with Squarespace is if you have a problem, the tech support is fantastic and new things are being added.
Why don’t you take the 30 day free trial, that’s what we did and were so impresssed, we started at a low buy in level and have just upgraded to the business level, which includes the form builder module.
The Cost to us £130.00 a year. A Bargain compared to what we would have had to pay an IT guy to run a website for us.
Hi Lee, that’s not a bad price, and the fact that you have had good support, justifys paying the annual fee for the blog software.
When I have some spare time [ha] I’ll sign up and write a review here.
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll be adding a contact me form/link to both of my blogs!
Thanks!
Thank you soooooo much
