The cost of a second phone line for your business could be expensive [it is in the UK] and I didn’t want to give out my home telephone number to people, because you know what would happen don’t you – yep, I’d be getting phone calls at all times of the day and night.

I found out that Skype offer a service called ‘Skype In’ where for only £20 [$35ish] a year, you get your own telephone number that people can call and you can take on your PC, either through a VOIP telephone or headphones / microphone.

With the Skype In service you receive a free answer phone service, so your customers can leave messages and it doesn’t cost you to listen to them! When I log on to my Skype account, I’m given a list of people who have left a message and I call them straight back.
