Blogging can have a negative impact on your Blog
I’ve been running an experiment on my travel blog – I posted six blog articles over a two day period, to see what the response would be from visitors and regular readers. What I noticed was that the number of comments was 50% lower than normal, and for the first time for a long time, I have blog entries which don’t have comments.
So – the question is, can you blog too much, and can blogging too many posts have a negative impact on your blog. From my small experience it would appear so, there was simply too much content to take in and posting 1 or 2 times a day is the best way to go.

I think you’d need to run a bigger experiment to determine anything one way or another. I know that weekends are much slower for my sites, and anything I do during that time with my content is unlikely to change the stats in the foreseeable future.
I try to minimise entries to one every two days or so. I want to keep what I write at the top for about 48 hours, and not start competing with my own content. Also, if I stay regular like that, people are more likely to develop a routine and not find it overwhelming just to keep up with my content…
I think Slawy pointed out something very important. I think when you blog so much, you really do start competing with your own content.
Most book publishers will only publish one book per author per year because most consumers are on a limited budget and they don’t want the author’s work to compete with their own work for the consumer’s dollars. Likewise, the blog reader is often working on a time budget and when you present them with tons of posts a day to read it can get wearing. Not to mention if your readership misses a couple of days and then comes back to 20 posts to read in order to catch up. Yikes!
