RSS feeds for Blogspot bloggers
RSS feeds allow bloggers to share content with news publishers, which has many benefits – Not only are RSS feeds great for driving traffic, but they are also a great way to increase the number of links to your blog, and we all know that links, equal improved search engine results.
For those that are using Google’s Blogger, you are limited in that the blog platform doesn’t offer a RSS feed as standard, but don’t panic, there is a solution, which is easy to integrate into your blog, so let me explain what you need to do:
1. Sign up on www.feedburner.com
2. You will receive a feed URL
3. On the right hand-side of your blog add a link to your RSS feed.
If you are not sure how to edit the code within Blogger to add the RSS feed on the right-hand sidebar, then drop me an email and I will explain this to you - one day soon, when I get a little more time I will blog about it.
The search engines will then pick up this RSS feed, and hopefully your blog will be featured on popular blog search engines like Google, Yahoo, Ask etc.
The advantage of using Feedburner is that you can view how many people are subscribed to your RSS feed. You can also submit your RSS feed to the number of RSS directories like www.rssfeeds.com
